URBEATZ will have a series of related themed projects in 2009.

URBEATZ offer alternative education and youth projects. We have worked with many schools, youth groups, colleges and universities across the region, where we have facilitated courses and workshops centred on poetry, diversity, anti-racism, anti-bullying, fair play, media, youth empowerment and careers. Further we offer strictly music-based courses focusing on song writing, recording, performance and event management. These courses can be taster sessions or longer in length depending on need.
URBEATZ have also facilitated various youth conferences, focusing on such topics such as Career and Life Achievement (Strive 2 Succeed), Shades of Blackness and the N-Word. In regards to education URBEATZ are focused upon empowering and educating young people on how to achieve, not just in work, but also in life.

In 2008 URBEATZ created and facilitated three major youth projects. The Legacy Project was done in partnership with National Museums Liverpool and looked at the legacy of the slave trade. The project educated a group of diverse young people on the slave trade and supported them in creating a Multi-arts showcase to articulate their learning. The Beat Continues, also in partnership with National Museums Liverpool, was a youth project that looked at the burgeoning Urban Music Scene in Liverpool and its place within the City’s rich musical history. Also in partnership with Victory Outreach, and funded by Merseyside Expanding Horizons, URBEATZ developed and facilitated a project that looked at Youth Gun and Knife Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour and looked at youth-led solutions to these problems.
